Ancient African, especially Egypt, Nubia and Ethiopia all remains important for at least two reasons. First it contextualize the discussion of subsequent developments largely inaugurated with massive trades in African captives. There are many civilizations in history that contributed to the rise of modern day society. All of the things that we see today have been some way in shape or form improved upon to stand the test of time. From the structures of buildings, religion and pyramids, to the influence of art, it all played a part.

The ancient civilization of the Egyptians was one of the most significant and well known cultures to ever have existed.  The government that we have today, ancient Egypt intertwined religion with politics, creating a vast network of gods that ruled over specific parts of Egyptian life. There were gods for the Nile, the sun, and the afterlife. The Egyptians believed wholeheartedly in their gods, and erected tombs, temples, and statues in their favor. Because of this, there is no Egyptian word for “religion”.

The gods were tied to all activities in daily life. During the early centuries, ancient Egypt, located along the Nile River, had became wealthy through its trade and ideas from as early as 3500 B.C.E.  The ancient Egyptians were very ethnocentric, regarding only themselves as “the people” and everyone else as uncivilized. This was not due to race, because the word “race” was a non existing term to them until the Europeans came in, but this had more to do with land of ones birth and culture rather than appearance.

As egypt expanded its control, it soon led into Nubia. from there cam the movement of many nubians into ancient egypt. They had influenced the Egyptian dynasty.
